Below we have tried to list the most commonly asked questions so we can try and make purchasing adverts and services from us as easy as possible, However we can't think of everything so if you have a question than please send us an email on the contact us page .. or PM one of the admins in the Facebook group. 

Basically, we allow any local or non local Business, Social Enterprise, Sole trader, Charity to join Arnold Community Group as their own page, and you are allow to post and advertise your products and services any time to suit your needs without waiting for approval from a group admin. 

We are a local Community group and we like to promote local businesses, and because we're such a popular group many businesses from outside the area use the group too. So in order to cap this a little, we offer favourable rates to local businesses. Non-local and national businesses of course are welcome to advertise, but they'll pay a bit more.

Good Question, we are glad you asked, there are a few reasons to why we charge for adverts, the main one is to stop rogue traders from advertising and scamming residents so we create a database of trusted businesses.

We are an established group, over 4 years in age and the group is strictly managed to be a fair and pleasant group, so we have a broad age range of members in the group. And all of this takes time and many hours of hard work, so to pay for this, we charge advertising fees to cover the costs.

Engagement, we have massive engagement from our members, over 85% - 95% visit the group several times Monthly, this is massive compared to other facebook groups.

We don't charge for adverts in some cases, for example a small volunteer led children's football team, but we ask everyone to register, the reason being in the past on many occasions residents of Arnold have been scammed or miss-treated,  so we have a database now of everyone who advertises in the group, so if something goes wrong we have the full contact information on file.. its a blanket policy to keep everyone safe.?

Payments

All customers will pay the full agreed price before their advertisement / service will be published or access granted, If paying monthly then you need to ensure payment is cleared 10 business days before the the start of the following month.

Any invoice outstanding beyond 30 days of the date of the invoice may be referred to debt recovery agents and will be subject to a surcharge of 20% to cover the collection costs incurred. This surcharge together with all other charges and legal fees incurred will be the responsibility of the customer and will be legally enforceable.

Refunds

No refunds to be made after 10 business days before the access or publication month, any additional works that are agreed, the balance of payments must be paid within 14 days of receipt of invoice.  Also, we offer no refunds on digital products like graphic designs, artwork, we do however offer up to 3 revisions to ensure your satisfaction. 

Copyright

It is the customers full responsibility to ensure and obtain all necessary authority and ownership rights to any logo’s, Websites, pictures, images, photographs, designs, or any other material that may be used in the advertising, posts or promotions within the group.

Proofs

If you require us to do any graphic work or design work then we will provide you with a proof for your approval no later than 5 business days before publishing, if we do not hear a response we will presume the proof is ok and publish it,  if you want any changes after being published, this will incur an additional fee.

Yes, basically we charge advertising fees to all profit-making organizations, sole traders, self-employed and Charitable organizations that have paid staff, here is a list of those exempt from charges. 

* 100% volunteer-led organisations & Charities
* Under 20's we encourage young entrepreneurs
* Over 60's, as long as you're not an owner/shareholder in a profitable business with employees, you can advertise for free, Most over '60s maintain a hobby to top up their pensions, and you're more than welcome to advertise for free. 
* Recruitment posts are allowed in the group for free, as long as you're not a recruitment agency, if you are, fees apply.
*School events & Information are free

We want to encourage new businesses and startup businesses in Arnold, so we have put together a special package for them to help boost their business and showcase it to the community.  We only charge a tiny fee of £10 a month for 3 months. Speak to an admin or send an email to take up this offer. 

Yes, this is the beauty of Facebook and online marketing, is that you get to see how many people you have reached, and not only that, you can engage with customers in the comments section, all using your branded business page. 

We only offer a monthly report with our paid managed service, however, you can request analytics twice a month..  So, for example, you have an offer running and you've posted this offer twice a week for the month, you can request via email the analytics two weeks in and at the end of the month... so you know how well your promotion has worked.. 

Within the group, residents are allowed to post genuine grievances or issues if they have received bad service or faulty products. 

However, we like this to be fair for all parties, and we give the business a chance to respond because after all there are two sides to a story.  In most cases, any decent business knows the best way to resolve things is to offer to put it right, offer a refund or something on the house the next time the customer visits..  

Our Reputation service ensures that this public exchange is done fairly and we monitor all comments to ensure things remain fair and remove any non-related comments that may be added from others... 

What we have found is, even if it wasn't the businesses fault if they offer a freebee or went out of their way to resolve it, and other residents in the group see this,  it is big bonus points to that business, it gives the impression of trust and a well-run business if the situation is resolved amicably for all parties.

Well, you don't have to if you don't want to, be here are three good reasons why you should. 

1) You're promoting your business constantly with a business page profile rather than a personal facebook profile. 

2) You're posting and commenting as your business, and not a personal profile, so you can free up you personal messenger for family & friends, and drive business via you business message centre. 

3) Likes Likes Likes, by using your business profile in the group, you get likes to your own business page, this way creating and growing your own loyal customer base. 

Simple, If your registered business address, trading address, or your residential home is within the circle you are classed as Local.  If your registered business address, trading address, or residential home is outside the circle, you are classed as non-local. 

You only need to have one of the three ( registered business address, trading address, or residential home ) within the circle to qualify for local pricing

In our Opinion yes... and here's why, you get to see how many people have seen your advert and how they have reacted to it, like clicks on your links, shares and other interactions, a print newspaper all that is guesswork, there are no guarantees anyone saw your advert. 

Also, you can interact with your customers if they comment on your advert .. which means you can answer their questions and drive them to your sales/service offer. 

And all this is done via your business page and not your personal profile.. so you are constantly marketing your business to others who might be reading the comments.

As a paid customer, you can post your offers & services any time you want for the month you have paid for. 
However we do advise that you stick to no more than 3 posts per week, anything more than that seems spammy, and you will find it a negative effect in your engagement numbers. 

Some exceptions will be allowed, like a countdown to a competition end for example, but please always check with an admin first. 

Admins reserve the right to delete any posts it deems are being repetitive or excessive.

Yes, We encourage you to post your offers and service, we advise using link shorteners as Facebook algorithm tends to demote posts with long Links or URL's. 

We don't allow any get rich quick schemes, or affiliate marketing links, so if thats your business model then this isn't the group for you.  
 

No, there is nothing in Facebook Terms & Conditions that says an owner of a Facebook group can't charge for adverts or services.

Millions of Facebook Group & Page admins charge users to access their groups, pages to access their content or charge for adverts. 

In fact Facebook itself has approved many of Total Web Services facebook groups for monetisation, via their Brand Collabs Manager Tool,  However rather than partnering with big brands to show their adverts to our users, we prefer to promote local businesses instead. 

 

Since the creation of the group we have always said sorry no to MLM businesses, mainly because we didn't have the resources to verify each MLM brand, and with the popular brands like Avon and Ann summers, they are that popular as a work from home business, nearly every street in every town in the UK  has a rep or agent of some sort, imagine 1000's of MLM businesses and 10's of thousands of reps ... so we blanket banned them.  

Now we get asked all the time, so we have decided to do a trial run of 6 months and allow some MLM businesses to advertise, the MLM brands will be approved on a case by case basis. 

We will Cap it to a maximum of 5 agents per MLM brand only,  so for example; 5 reps from Avon, 5 Reps from Osborne books, 5 reps from Weight Watchers, We hope thats clear. 

And we will only be allowing 1 post every 7 days per rep or agent. this is so we don't swamp the group with adverts. 

You will pay the same pricing as normal businesses, local and non local pricing and you will be classed as one man / woman band businesses. 

The 5 allocated spots will be on a first come first served basis, and admins have the final say in regards repetitive posts, same offers, and the T&C's set out here.  Try and mix it up a bit, be creative with your posts. 

We hope this 6 month trial is successful, if we decide to close this trial at six months  or earlier,  and say you've paid for 12 months posting. you will receive a refund for any months not used.



 

All Charities are run like businesses and most advertise and have allocated budgets to spend on marketing. This is called cost of funding, so say they spend £20 on adverts, badges, leaflets, to aim to raise £100.  Like any Charity or business, we have overheads and operating costs so we apply a small fee to charities who have paid staff, if a charity is 100% volunteer lead .. then adverts are free.  

We will delete any posts from businesses that are bumped up by making repetitive comments in the comments section of the post
